Tulum weddings

Tulum is a laid-back beach area in the Rivera Maya in Mexico, and a perfect place for a destination wedding. It's easy to get to, there's a lot to do, and there are some fantastic places to stay. Unlike the resort areas of Cozumel and Cancun, most of the hotels in Tulum max out at two stories. They tend to be hidden amongst the trees, so although you may be in a hotel zone, you don't feel it. Destinatoin weddings in Tulum are becoming more and more popular based on its pristing beauty and relaxed vibe.

Like all Mexican weddings, you'll need the following for your marriage requirements: passport, birth certificate, blood tests, witnesses, and you'll have to be in th country for a few days before you get married. You also must have your legal ceremony in a judge's office - then you can have your spiritual/religious ceremony whenever you want. Typically it takes 3 days to get married in Tulum. Many people will just do the legal work in their home state, and then have their spiritual/religious wedding abroad. One cool possibility is to have a Mayan wedding ceremony - it's a cosmic, shaman-led ceremony, and extraordinarily unique way to get married. Best places to get married on Tulum, Mexico

The Riviera Maya is full of fantastic hotels and inns, and here are some of the best place places to get married in Tulum. Check out Posada del Sur, the Mil Amores Tlum, Hotel Jashita, Amansala, Dreams Tulum, Be Tulum Hotel, Cabanas La LUna, Ana Y Jose Charming Hotel, and the Pez Ocean Palamace. Other cool places to get married in Tulum are the Blue Tulum, Mezzanine, Ocho, La Zebra, Parayso, Piedra Escondida, Cabanas Retiro Maya, Los Lirios, Playa Azul, Hotel Playa Kin Ha, and the Tierras del Sol. Really you can't go wrong. One thing that's super fun about Tulum is that the hotels are pretty small, so you can house a large number of guests in different hotels along the beach, if one place is full. Then you can all just walk back and forth to hang out with each other.

What to do in Tulum, Mexico

There are a ton of fun activities for you and your wedding guests in Tulum. Check out the Tulum or Coba archeological ruins or consider a day at the Xel Ha National Park. Also go on trip to the Carnival in Cozumel if it's the right time of year, go kite surfing, or visit the Hidden Worlds Cenotes Park, where we photographed a super fun trash the dress wedding portrait session.
