Weddings in Mazatlan

Weddings in Mazatlan are unique, because they combine the cultural charm of colonial Mexico, the hopping night life of a large, cosmopolitan metropolis, with the inviting allure of miles and miles of relaxing beach. There are not a lot of big time resort areas that have such a rich cultural history as Mazatlan. You'll still find cobblestone streets, interesting architecture and colorful art -- all of which make for fantastic wedding photography. Mazatlan, however, also plays home to the best beaches south of the border. And yep, if you get married in Mazatlan, you should enjoy drinking Pacifico beer -- it's where it was invented!

One great thing about Mazatlan is that it's pretty easy to get to, thanks to a nearby international airport (General Rafael Buelna) that's served from LAX, SFO, DIA, PHX, Houston, Minneapolis, Seattle, and tons of other larger metro airports in the USA and Canada. As far as wedding requirements go, you will need to get to Mexico about 3 days before you get married to do paperwork and such. In general, you'll need blood tests, four witnesses, and you'll need to get married in a judge's office. Many couples just get married legally at home and have their religious or spiritual ceremony abroad.

Best places to get married on Mazatlan, Mexico

Here are some of the best places to get married in Mazatlan: Casa Lucila Boutique Hotel, Villas el Rancho Green Resort, Riu Emerald Bay, Apartments Fiesta, Royal Villas Resort, El Cid Marina Beach Hotel, Isla Mazatlan Golden REsort, Pueblo Bonito Emerald Bay, Luna Palace Hotel, Oceano Palace, Pueblo Bonito Mazatlan, Estrella del Mar, Ocean Breeze and Olas Atlas. Also, as a Mazatlan wedding photographer, we have to recommend Torres Mazatlan - it's got some of the most picturesque grounds in the area. Also, there's Faro Mazatlan and Riu Emerald Bay.

What to do in Mazatlan, Mexico

Mazatlan is a diverse and interesting city, so there are many activities you and your wedding guests can enjoy during a destination wedding weekend. There are cliff divers, the Olas Atlas Beach, some interesting cathedrals, and Faro, a huge lighthouse that's the highest one in the world. IF you hike up it, you'll have a fantastic view of the city. There's a fantastic nightlife scene, world famous golf courses, and even some surf. You will not be bored if you have a wedding in Mazatlan. Lots to do and lots to take pictures of!

Dreamtime Verdict: Mazatlan

If you're torn between a wedding at the beach (like in Puerto Vallarta) and a wedding in an interesting city like San Miguel de Allende, Mazatlan may be a good place to tie the knot. We recommend Mazatlan for couples who want it all -- who are psyched for great bars and night clubs, great beaches, and some fantastic culture. Of course, there are nicer beaches in Mexico, and more interesting cities, but there's almost nowhere where you'll find it all in one place in such high quality and quantity.
