Cancun weddings

Wedding photography in Cancun is a great opportunity to capture your big celebration in one of the most beautiful beach resort areas in Mexico. There are a ton of awesome hotels to stay at and fun activities for you and your guests. One thing that sticks out about Cancun is that it is definitely tourist zone, and many of the hotels are all-inclusive. Some folks love this, while others hate this. If you're not much of an all-inclusive type, all you need to do is head down the beach and plan a wedding in Akumal or Tulum.

Be sure to ask your hotel if they allow outside photographers to take your wedding pictures. Some of the local resorts will force you to hire their own Cancun wedding photographer (or pay some sort of fee to bring in their own), which is often a make-it-or-break-it issue for couples.

At any rate, if you opt for a Cancun wedding, you should pay attention to the weather. It can get hit by hurricanes in the late summer and fall, and can get super hot during the summers. The best times are from December to April, but that's also when the prices rise. This goes not just for Cancun, but Cozumel, Tulum, Akumal and the rest of the areas in the Riviera Maya. Nevertheless, don't let that stop you from planning a destination wedding there - it's one of the most popular areas, and for good reason.

What to do in Cancun, Mexico

Most likely, you will spend a fair amount of time lounging on the beach with your friends with a margarita in hand. This, of course, is a nice way to spend a few days! If you'd like to get out and about, there are some cool underground sinkholes and springs (cenotes) that are worth visiting, as well as some fun diving and snorkeling opportunities. You can always head down to Tulum to check out the Mayan ruins, too. There are some great golf course, if you're so inclined.

Cancun is deserving of its reputation as a top place to get married in Mexico. It's super easy to get to, and its international airport is accessible from big hubs throughout the States. The resort atmosphere is modern and luxurious, so when you book a place, you can pretty much go there and not worry about anything at all. There are smaller towns down the coast (Tulum, Playa del Carmen, Akumal) where you can go for a visit, or to check out some of the other attractions the area has to offer. All in all, Cancun is the place to go if you're looking for an all-inclusive resort experience on the Riviera Maya.
