USVI weddings

The trio of islands making up the USVI, St. John, St. Croix, and St. Thomas, all offer beautiful wedding photography opportunities. They are absolutely beautiful. The Virgin Islands chain is made up of many many islands, some inhabited and others completely deserted. They're extremely easy to travel back and forth to, and sport many luxurious hotels, casinos and restaurants.

There are two major international airports serving the Virgin Islands, one on St. Croix and another serving St. John and St. Thomas. There are many direct flights. The rainy season lasts from May to November, and the hurricane season is in the autumn (September to November). The best time to get married there is probably in March or April.

Wedding requirements for the USVI are not arduous at all, but since it's not a US state, some of the requirements are different. Make sure you get the required documents to the Courthouse 8 days before your ceremony, along with the $100 application fee. Once you're there, you'll have to go in person to pick up your license, but then you can get married immediately. The trick is to be prepared!

The best places to get married in the USVI are numerous. What to do in the USVI

First and foremost, you have to go yachting if you're planning a USVI wedding. Take a sunset cruise, hire a sailboat and visit some of the outer islands, visit the British Virgin Islands and hang out on a deserted beach, or just enjoy the sights, sounds and smells of a thrilling boat trip through the Sir Francis Drake Channel. If your wedding guests are interested in scuba diving, there are endless possibilities. In fact, the USVI has some of the best scuba diving in the Caribbean. One of these days someone will hire us to shoot an underwater wedding, which would be super fun! Be sure to check out Buck Island Reef National Monument, the Salt River Bay Eological Preserve, and the Virgin Islands Marine Park.

The USVI are just a ton of fun. We recommend getting married in the USVI for the following reasons. First, it's easy to get to. Second, logistics are super easy since the islands are a US territory. Your wedding certificate will be valid back in the States, which makes life a little easier. There's also a fairly well developed wedding industry on the US Virgin Islands, so you'll have great catering, good planning, fun life music, and gorgeous flowers. Beware that many of the resorts offer a wedding package, but they often are extremely cookie-cutter and bland. Make sure to exercise your unique vision on your USVI wedding.
