Digital wedding photography
Digital is, in our opinon, a better option for us when we consider the style in which we photograph weddings. The technology behind digital photography is growing rapidly, and prints made from digital images are often indistinguishable from film. That, of course, requires the photographer to use professional quality lenses and digital bodies, which we do at Dreamtime Images. Another advantage of digital wedding photography is the ability to make duplicates of the raw images to save inf safe places. Digital users can burn DVDs and store them in several different places so that there's always a backup somewhere. Film negatives can get dirty or wet or scratched, and otherwise permanently destroyed. They can be lost in the mail or even lost durign processing.
While the prints made from digital images may slowly fade (although very slowly, since modern print houses use inks that take 100 years to fade), the original digital files won’t. That's in contrast to film. So prints made from those files twenty years from now will look just as sharp and just as vibrant as the day the photos were taken.
Digital images can be almost anything you want them to be -- they can come in different colors, have selective parts colorized while the rest of the image is black and white. You can blur backgrounds or soften the pictures or remove blemishes. Photoshop is a wonderful tool for the digital wedding photographer. What's more, digital images can easily be posted on web pages, or made into DVD slideshows or printed at home. It's also very easy to host them on a special web site for family and friends.
